In the third quarter of 2025, the social networking landscape on iOS in Nigeria saw significant activity across the top five applications. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varied trends in downloads, revenue, and active users.

Telegram Messenger showed a noticeable increase in weekly revenue, starting at around $2.6K at the beginning of July and peaking at $4.1K by mid-September. Downloads for Telegram increased steadily, reaching over 42K by early September, while active users hovered around 4M throughout the quarter.

Facebook maintained a consistent presence with revenue fluctuating slightly around $300, peaking at $351 in the last week of September. Downloads saw a gradual rise, ending the quarter at approximately 28K. The active user base remained robust, averaging over 3.2M users weekly.

WhatsApp Messenger continued to dominate with a strong active user base, hitting over 10M consistently. Downloads varied throughout the quarter, peaking at 29.8K in late September.

Threads experienced a significant increase in downloads, culminating at nearly 30K by the end of September. Active users showed a slight fluctuation, ending the quarter with around 598K.

Messenger saw a steady climb in downloads, reaching 16.6K in the final week. However, active users showed a decline, starting at 1.39M and ending at about 1.24M.
